Blue Light Phones

Anyone on campus can directly contact the University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security (DPSS) by using the Emergency Blue Light Phones located throughout campus. Red box emergency phones or buttons, located in campus parking structures and building elevators, also directly connect to DPSS Dispatch Services.When the telephone receiver is removed from the cradle or the button is pushed, DPSS Dispatch Services is automatically provided a location and an officer will be sent to the location of the telephone. No dialing or conversation is required, but if possible, try to describe the emergency to the dispatcher when you call.

CEW+

CEW+ navigates circumstantial barriers by providing academic, financial, and professional support to help you reach your personal potential. Established to support women through higher education, CEW+ lifts up women and all underserved communities at U-M and beyond. Through career and education counseling, funding, workshops, events, and a diverse, welcoming community, the office exists to empower.

Dean of Students Office

The Dean of Students Office promotes student development and enhances students’ Michigan experience through programs, services, partnerships/connections, and policy development that promotes an inclusive campus climate and facilitates the successful navigation of campus life.  The office is a central place for students, parents, faculty and staff to receive assistance with navigating the complex issues of student life.

English Language Institute

The ELI provides language, academic, and intercultural instruction for international graduate students and scholars; language and pedagogy courses for international Graduate Student Instructors; and ESL/EFL teacher preparation courses for undergraduates.

Engineering Advising Center (EAC)

The Engineering Advising Center (EAC) provides academic services and support for first year and undeclared students. Services include academic advising, personal counseling, career exploration, goal setting and workshops to facilitate student success. 

Engineering Career Resource Center (ECRC)

Offer services to students and alumni that include career advising, cover letter and resume writing, and help with full-time, internship, and co-op options.

Maize & Blue Cupboard

Located in the basement of the Betsy Barbour Residence Hall, Maize & Blue Cupboard is a free year-round resource on UM campus that provides food, toiletries, and cookware for the UM community. You will need your MCard in order to access the cupboard.

Office of Student Conflict Resolution

The Office of Student Conflict Resolution promotes a safe and scholarly community in which students navigate conflict in a peaceful, socially just, and self-reflexive manner.  OSCR offers a spectrum of conflict resolution pathways that are educationally focused, student-driven, community owned, and restorative in nature, which are adaptable to meet the needs of individuals experiencing conflict.
